At Hope for Healing, Inc. our mission is "to contribute to the healing of people in need of mental health support and to expand the availability of and access to support services."

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, there were 57.8 Million adults living with mental illness in the US in 2021. We exist to contribute to the mental health crisis, and reduce the number of people who are in need of services and unable to access them.

Meet the Board of Directors

Fredrica Morris has over 30 years of legal experience as a Legal Assistant and a Paralegal. She has served the public for many years as an Adult Education Instructor at Franklin Adult Education, located in Somerset, NJ; and as a Certified Volunteer Tutor for a number of years with the Mercer County Literacy Program. Fredrica has provided support to the community in a myriad of different capacities in her work with The Citizens Campaign where she served as a key player in various projects and assignments, as well as fundraising and expansion efforts. She also served as a key liaison between the organization and its donors, trustees, and other external partners. Fredrica enjoys working with the public and has served several years as a Licensed Public Adjuster, educating property owners by providing them with the tools to better understand their insurance coverage. She has an extensive background in charitable work, which includes her work with the NJ Red Cross and her ministry service with several organizations. In addition to being a Certified Chaplan, Fredrica holds a ministerial license and a degree in Christian Studies.

Loni Mendez is a highly recognized and sought-after expert in the business community where she brings over 20 years of corporate human resources and consulting experience with global organizations.  Loni holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Management from DeVry University, as well as a Human Resource Management Certification and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. She has also completed a Life Coach Certification program and is a Certified Grant Writer. Loni is a published author and has earned several awards for her invaluable service to the community, including Alignable.com's 2022 & 2023 Local Business Person of the Year Award.

Janice Kakungu has over 20 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry. Throughout her career, she has worked and collaborated with Elder Law Attorneys, Medical Doctors, Psychiatrists, Administrators, and other Healthcare professionals to serve the senior and mental health communities. She is well-versed in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. She is also certified in Public Policy and the  Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Janice brings  a wealth of knowledge and experience in Psychiatric and Behavioral Health referral and placement services to her work. She is the owner and CEO of Living to Care, LLC, a service that provides referral and placement services for those in need of mental health clinics, assisted living, group homes, and independent living. She is the visionary and active minister with TJK Ministries.

Linda Taylor has worked with the State of New Jersey Child Support Enforcement Office for 20 years. Prior to her employment with the state, she worked for Prudential for 23 years. Linda holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Temple University. She volunteers her time working in the areas of Administration and Marketing with the tutoring ministry known as Academic Excellence.

Judge Sauls was elected as Justice of the Peace to the Kyrene Justice Court precinct in 2018 and officially sworn in on January 9, 2019. Sauls earned a Master of Legal Studies from Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law at ASU, a Bachelor of Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, at La Crosse, as well as certifications in mediation - one form the Arizona Attorney General's office.  Judge Sauls has served the cities of Phoenix and Chandler on committees affecting housing, human services and domestic violence and has 20 years of experience in housing law, including HUD regulations, Fair Housing requirements and city code enforcement. She is passionate about educating residents about landlord tenant law, improving community counseling services, and fair treatment of veterans, victims of abuse, and historically underserved communities. She is also a published author.

Quiana Morris-Smith is a seasoned, well-versed Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience in an administrative capacity. Throughout her career, Quiana has worked in the healthcare, community service and fashion industries. She holds a Technical Diploma in Graphic Design and Animation from Anthem Institute.

Donna E. Williams worked with the New York City Transit Authority for 25 years, and has been retired since 2013. She is an active member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), where she has proven to be a viable asset to the organization. Within NAMI, Donna serves as the Southern Regional Coordinator, a co-facilitator of the AACT-NOW Family Support Groups, and a Family 2 Family Certified Instructor. For over ten years she has made a difference for people through facilitating workshops, moderating and participating in panel discussions, and presenting on mental illness from “the caregiver’s perspective.” She is committed to altering the stigma of mental illness and helping others to be the change they want to see in the world. Donna attended both the Taylor Business Institute and SUNY at Old Westbury College of New York. Her educational background is in Business Management. She has also completed John Maxwell’s Coaching and Leadership Certification Program.
